A Guide to Fundraising Readiness and Impact Management for Early Stage Enterprises

About this Course

More than 90% (70+ million) of all Asian businesses are SMEs contributing 7 out of 10 jobs (overall) in their region, and majority furthering at least one of the SDGs (World Bank SME Finance, 2022). However, most early stage Impact Enterprises (IEs) have limited opportunities to access investments especially when they are looking to scale and/or deepen their impact framework. IEs can benefit if they can combine their fundraising mix with catalytic financing (non-equity dilution funds) as well as commercial mainstream capital. For investors, this also opens up exciting opportunities to enjoy more favourable conditions while engaging with impact enterprises. This short course will highlight basic concepts that IEs can apply in terms of their commercial viability, impact management and measurement, instrument advisory via the innovative finance toolkit, and offer tailored support for IEs to engage with investors during early fundraising rounds. The course models after the Biniyog Briddhi program, a multi year impact advisory project in Bangladesh by Roots of Impact.
